Now, what would have happened if Frodo didn't destroy the ring?
What if Gollum never showed them them the way?
If Boromir was never killed?
Rohan was more powerful than Gondor and the Battle of Helms Deep hadn't been lost?
What if they didn't have to make it through the Mines of Moria and battle the Balrog?
Gandalf would not have been separated from the Fellowship?
If Arwen hadn't managed to get Frodo safely across the Ford of Bruinen?
How would everything have turned out if Frodo was not the ring-bearer?
The entire story would be different.
Now, here at Second Breakfast, the story takes a turn. Bilbo's ring was not passed onto Frodo, but to someone else. And it's their job to make sure the ring is used in the right. Either destroyed in the fiery pit that is Mt. Doom or be sure that it does not fall into the wrong hands...

Sounds.............complicated?
Even so, it sounds like an easy plot--we have the original story for reference and it's not like we'll have to imagine an entirely new story.
I think we should try it, though. Why not? Gwathelen, what do you think?
